De VVM is thé network of environmental professionals in the Netherlands. Up-and-coming sustainable talents and old hands in the environmental trade meet each other in our association. Around 1300 members easily get in touch in one of the 20 sections with themes such as biodiversity, water and climate & energy. Students and starters can (also) join section Young. And, within the network you can look for a mentor; handy when you're looking for an internship or your future job.
In our network Dutch is the principal language, which certainly does not imply that as a non-Dutch speaker you cannot profit from a membership.
As a student, you can attend all activities except courses for free, unlike regular members. They pay 150 euros for a membership. Students pay only 15 euros a year, which is a 90% discount.
VVM cooperates with a diversity of Dutch study and student associations. Currently these are Aktief Slip (WUR), Biologica (WUR), FMC (Inholland Delft), Genius Loci (WUR), Hallieu (HvHL), Idun (RUG), IESA Shift (LU/TU Delft), Mundus (RU), Nitocra (WUR), Proton (UU), Spectrum (UvA), Storm (UU), Studenten voor Morgen (landelijk platform), SustainaGear (HAS), Sylvatica (WUR) and UBV (UU). For more information about these associations check this page.

As a student member, you can put your questions to a VVM mentor. Mentors are enthusiastic members of VVM. These experienced environmental professionals are happy to think along with you about your study (direction) and your future career.
For example, a conversation with a mentor can be useful if you are in doubt about which specialisation to pursue or which sector you want to work in. A mentor can also discuss what your options are when you graduate or how to build up a good network.
Based on your request, VVM will try to make the best possible match between you and the mentor. How you get in touch is up to you. Calling, zooming or having a coffee. Maybe you only have one single meeting, but that doesn't have to be the case. Company visits have also been part of previous matches between mentor and mentee.
