     Tuesday 07/03/2023
     19:30 - 21:00
   Online via Zoom
Dutch, English, whatever you and your speeddate prefer :)

Do you recognise (one of) these questions?

  • What direction do I want to take in terms of work after my studies?
  • What could my career look like?
  • What does working for a consultancy or government agency or scientifc institute entail?
  • How do I take a good first step on my career path?
  • How do I get the right network?
  • How do I position myself as an environmental professional?

Of course, you can discuss these questions with friends and family or with lecturers and student advisers. But you can also benefit from talking to inspired environmental professionals. People who have extensive work experience (in your field of interest) and are happy to think along with you.

The set-up of the event

During the mentor-speeddating event we bring professionals in the environmental field together with students and young professionals. In short sessions of 20 minutes, you will meet multiple experienced professionals (and maybe even a potential employee!). Depending on what you want, you can leave it at a one-time conversation or you can decide on a long term mentor relationship.

Sign up and make your preferences known

You can let us know what environmental fields or professions you are interested in and we can find a mentor for you that fits your needs! So sign up by clicking the button below, fill in the form to let us know your preferences and we’ll see you on March 7th!

This event is organised by VVM Sectie Jong.

About VVM

VVM is the network of environmental professionals. Sustainable thinkers and doers meet in our association. Around 1300 members have very diverse backgrounds. From independent noise expert to researcher of sustainable mobility and from advisor on circularity at a commercial company to specialist in climate adaptation at the province; at the VVM you meet them all.

Find an internship or job

As a member, you can easily get in touch with other members. Through the online member database, an e-mail to the VVM Bureau or by attending a speed date event. This is handy if you want to find relevant interviewees for your thesis or are looking for an internship. But also if you want to discuss your career options. The VVM mentoring system is particularly suitable for this: dedicated VVM members who offer their time, skills and knowledge to help you with questions about your study and/or (future) career.

Active members

It is also possible to become active in one of the 20 secties, working groups around themes such as: climate & energy, biodiversity, soil & land use and water. Here, members discuss the latest developments in their field and organise events on the topic of their (professional) interest. For students and starters, there is sectie Jong.

Activities

You can find inspiration at more than 40 activities each year. These activities vary from a conference on the future of our environmental policy to a career event aimed at students and from an excursion to a windmill park to a networking drink for young professionals.
